Cubanis: Artist Spotlight

Cubanis Dancehall Artist

Cubanis Introduction

Cubanis has a clear idea of who he is and what he hopes to accomplish.

Ackeem Lattibeaudiere aka Cubanis was born on January 19, 1991, in Kingston, Jamaica.  He hails from the community of Maverley and attended Maverley Primary, Junior High School and was successfully placed in the Jose’ Marti Technical High School.

According to his mother, Cubanis had an ear for music at an early age.  He would often gravitate towards the Sunday acoustic sessions on the radio as a toddler.  Dancing and singing with a passion with a love for keys.  His musical intuition blossomed and his capabilities soon became evident.

Musical Journey

Cubanis’ love for music continued to grow; composing rhythms and songs over the years.  In addition to working as a Musical Engineer for popular Jamaican producers such as Seanizzle and I-Kation Records, he’s a multitalented vocalist.

Having recorded songs for and with a number of famous producers/artists.  Including Seanizzle, Mr. G, Marcus Records (Buju Banton’s son) and Future Fambo of Outstanding Records.

Experience and Discography

Success from these projects and more are evident.  Resulting in international airplay; especially making waves throughout Jamaica.  Cubanis has experienced success with songs like “Headback Careless”, “Evil Trap”, “Real Boss”, “Wine It”, “For My Haters (feat. Cubanis)” and more.

Admittedly his most popular song to date is “Inhale and Exhale” (Seanizzle Records).  The response to this song was so amazing, Cubanis produced his first music video for it!

He continues to put out quality songs and has much more in store!

Live Performances & Inspiration

Over the years he has done several community-based shows, treats and charity events for communities.  Audiences have been blessed in Marverley, Drews Land, Pembroke Hall, and others.  As a result of these experiences, Cubanis dominates the stage and musically intrigues his audience.  He has performed at popular events such as Plug N Play (Jonkanoo, Wyndham Kingston) and Intuition (Montego Bay, Jamaica).

The dancehall artist is inspired by Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Jah Cure, Bob Marley, Notorious B.I.G and Bounty Killer.

“I like Killer’s delivery style, he commands the stage.”

“Biggy Smalls writes in a way that always has a storyline, his lyrics are vividly constructed, you can almost ‘see’ the story in every song.”

The Future

Under the guidance of Roland Henry and TeamCubanisMusic, Cubanis considers himself in very good hands. He wants to be the next legend.  An icon in the music industry.  Envisioning himself as being very successful and dominating the music market.  He hopes to one day build a musical empire; similar to his idols  Rick Ross and Vybz Kartel.

The main focus now is to continue to record superb tracks, expand his musical audience and to have fun while doing it.  His perspective is, if you love what you do, you’ll always do what you love.  That type of work is never burdensome but rewarding.

Cubanis says “I see myself being successful at what I do, and I’m going to continue to do me”.
